I’ve tried launching Rhino in Safe Mode and also attempted a repair installation, but it still doesn’t work If I inhibit RhinoCycles from loading and start Rhino 8 normally, it will start with no issues. If I turn back on RhinoCycles it will crash at start.

This sounds like the redistributable issue that has been reported.

Do the x86 C++ Redistributable first, then the x64 C++ Redistributable.

This sounds like the redistributable issue that has popped up lately with updates (windows, programs)

Try a repairing on Microsoft C++ Redistributable. Do the x86 C++ Redistributable first, then the x64 C++ Redistributable.

1. Make sure that all Windows updates have been installed.
2. Open Settings: Right-click the Start button and select Settings. Alternatively, type “Apps & features” into the Windows search bar and click “Open”.
3. Go to Apps & features: In the Settings window, select Apps from the left-hand menu, then click on Apps & features.
4. Sort by install date: Find the “Sort by” dropdown menu (it may initially say “Name”) and click it.
5. Select Install date: Choose “Install date” from the dropdown to reorder the list, with the most recent installations appearing at the top.
6. Take a screen capture of your most recently installed apps. Send to support
7. Select Microsoft C++ Redistributable, right-click and click on Change. (x86 first, then the x64)
8. On Microsoft C++ Redistributable Setup, click on Repair.
9. Click on Close once setup is successful.

Happening again..? Please send a screen grab of the Windows latest installed programs. Keep one when Rhino is workings and then take one then Rhino no longer opens. Send it to Rhino Tech Support tech@mcneel.com ASAP.
