Becoming an Authorized Rhino Trainer (ART)

Requirements to become an Authorized Rhino Trainer

  • Complete the four mandatory online courses in the prep bundle before training begins.
    • Courses include: Rhino 8 Introduction, Rhino 8 Intermediate, 2D Technical Drawing, and SubD Modeling. An optional Rendering course is also available, but not required.
    • You will gain access to the bundle of courses once you register.
  • Hold a current Rhino license.
  • Attend the New‑ART Online Training.
    • 12 hours live (six 2‑hour instructor‑led sessions) + 12 hours self‑study
    • Attendance is mandatory.
    • Submit all assignments for review and make revisions if requested.
  • Pass the Rhino Level 2 Certification Exam
    • You may take the exam before or after the New‑ART training.
  • Submit a teaching sample.
    • Record a video or provide a written tutorial on a Rhino topic of your choice.
    • Topic must be pre‑approved during one of the training sessions.
    • Be ready to revise if asked. (See sample references.)

Recommended Extras

  • At least two years of Rhino modeling experience.
  • Familiarity with the Rhino Level 1 & 2 training guides

Next Mandatory ART Candidate Training (hosted online by McNeel Miami; typically offered twice a year)

Course Confirmation May 12 – 16, 2025 - Minimum 6 participants required

Training Sessions June 11 – 13 & 18 – 20, 2025. (Wed‑Fri over two weeks from 12 pm – 2 pm EST + 2 hrs self‑study each day).

  • Submit the application form.
  • Upon approval you will receive your Rhino Authorized Trainer certificate and:
    • Access to list courses on Rhino’s Training page
    • Permission to teach at Authorized Rhino Training Centers
    • A listing in Rhino’s On‑Site Training directory for custom training services

Requirements

  • Be a school, college, university, training academy or Rhino reseller.
  • Have an Authorized Rhino Trainer available.
  • Have a Rhino training web page.
  • Provide scheduled training to commercial users.
  • Offer free space available training to teachers and students.
  • Own an up-to-date Rhino lab license.
  • If offering one of McNeel's official courses based on the Level 1, Level 2, or AEC training guides, you agree to respect the minimum number of hours stated in those guides (24 hours).
  • You can offer your customized courses.

Application

Fill out this application. We will review it and reply to you within 5-10 business days.

Once you have been approved,

  • You can log on and post your Rhino class schedule to the my.mcneel.com site.
  • Your details and training schedule will be automatically posted on the Rhino Training web site.
  • Your Rhino training schedule will be announced in the Rhino Training News emails.
